The VOLTAGE REGULATOR (Automatic Voltage Regulator or AVR) is an electronic device capable of automatically regulating the voltage and possibly also the frequencies according to the set values, which in some cases can be varied while in others, are constrained by the technical characteristics of the device. APPLICATIONS In systems based on the current switch or shunt, a voltage regulator converts the alternating current (with frequency and voltage variable over time) into direct current at constant voltage. They are used in the latest generation of synchronous generators. Other applications concern the stabilization of direct voltages at lower values, as in the case for example of power circuits for electronic boards
